We're releasing OpenTranscribe v0.5.1, a maintenance release that clears the dependency backlog accumulated by Dependabot's weekly grouped PRs and closes out the three release-pipeline gaps discovered while cutting v0.5.0 (issues #937, #938, #939).

This is the biggest release OpenTranscribe has shipped, and it took longer than we wanted. OpenTranscribe is a side project on top of a full-time job, and this cycle kept growing every time we got close to calling it done. A feature would surface a bug, the bug would surface a design question, and the question would turn into three more issues. We'd rather ship it right than ship it on a schedule.

We're releasing OpenTranscribe v0.4.1, a targeted patch that fixes a silent LDAP authentication failure for Active Directory users (issue #188) and adds Keycloak-as-PKI-broker support for government and FedRAMP deployments.

OpenTranscribe v0.4.0 started as a "quick authentication improvement" and snowballed into 281 commits, two months of engineering, and a complete transformation of the platform. What began as adding LDAP support turned into enterprise auth, neural search, a native transcription pipeline, GPU optimization patches submitted upstream to PyAnnote and WhisperX, a frontend security hardening sprint, and dozens of features born from processing 1,400 real-world podcasts. This is the story of how dirty data, user requests, and engineering curiosity turned a side project into a production-grade platform.

We're releasing OpenTranscribe v0.2.1, a security patch that addresses critical vulnerabilities identified in our container images. All users are encouraged to update.
